A Journey Through Earlier Works

The collection that laid the foundation for my artistic voice. Created in graphite and charcoal, these works reflect my early exploration of observation, light, emotion and technical precision.

REST

CHAMELEON

CHAMELEON

female with large angel wings, seated in a crouched position with her head resting in her hands.

Graphite on Arches Aquarelle

620 × 870 mm

2024

R35 000 – Available  (Framed)

A secretive portrayal of vulnerability and strength. This figure — angelic, yet human — is captured in a moment of deep reflection or sorrow, wings folding in like an embrace.  The sharp contrast between light and shadow reveals both the weight and grace of pause. Rest invites the viewer to consider grief, stillness, and the quiet presence of hope.

CHAMELEON

Graphite and watercolor on Arches Aquarelle

270 x 380 mm

2025

R2 500 - Available (Unframed)

This colorful chameleon celebrates nature's tiny details and patience.  Drawin in graphite and watercolor pencil, I loved capturing the textures and vibrant scales.

BALANCE

CHAMELEON

Drawing of a balanced stack of stones in shades of grey, set against a soft, warm yellow background

Graphite and watercolor on Arches Aquarelle

270 x 380 mm

2025

R2 500 - Available (Unframed)

A gentle study in contrast and calm. This drawing layers the softness of watercolor with the structure of graphite to depict a stack of smooth stones — each placed with care, each holding quiet weight. A moment of stillness and symmetry, grounded in light.

GOLDEN GATE

Charcoal drawing of the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge is colored red with pastels

 Charcoal on Arches Aquarelle
530 X 780 mm

2025
R5 000 - Available (Unframed)

A striking depiction of the Golden Gate Bridge, captured in rich red pastel and softened charcoal tones. This drawing explores contrast — between manmade structure and natural landscape, between weight and suspension. Span reflects strength in balance, and the quiet elegance of engineering meeting sky.

SHORELINE

Graphite drawings of beach shells

Graphite on Arches Aquarelle

260 x 390 mm

2024

R3 000 - Available (Unframed)

A detailed graphite rendering of natural textures found along the shoreline — shells, coral, and stones. This piece invites the viewer to slow down and notice the quiet intricacy of nature’s designs.

HEARTSTRINGS

Charcoal drawing of a wooden cabinet with a red heart ornament hanging from two floral knobs.

 Charcoal on Arches Aquarelle
180 x 180 mm

2023
R900 - Available (Unframed)

A soft, symbolic still life drawn in charcoal with a single pop of red. This piece captures a wooden cabinet adorned with a small hanging heart — a simple object filled with emotion, nostalgia, and quiet presence. Heartstrings reflects connection, memory, and the beauty of things left unsaid.

LICHEN STUDY

 Charcoal on Paper
140  x 340 mm

230 x 450 mm (framed)

2023
R850 - Available (Framed)

A quiet exploration of growth and detail. This drawing captures a close-up section of tree bark covered in lichen — rendered in graphite and charcoal, with soft touches of color in mossy greens and muted blues. Lichen Study reflects the artist's interest in overlooked textures, natural decay, and the quiet life unfolding on the forest floor.

QUIVER TREE

Graphite drawing of a quiver tree with intricate detailing of its textured trunk

Charcoal on Arches Aquarelle

1150 x 1700 mm

2023

R9 000 - Available (Unframed)

Rooted and reaching.  This large  drawing of a single quiver tree explores contrast between strength and flow.  With every mark on its leaves, this piece reflects stillness, endurance and quiet resilience.
