MY STORY

My art is an exploration of what it means to be truly seen.

Through contemporary portraiture and symbolic imagery, I explore the quiet moments of transformation—those moments when we begin to let go of who we thought we had to be and move closer to who we really are. My work is inspired by themes of authenticity, vulnerability, resilience and the ongoing journey of becoming.

While the human face is central to my work, I am less interested in creating a likeness than revealing an inner landscape. Each portrait invites the viewer to pause, reflect and perhaps recognise something of their own story within it.

My early work focused on observation through graphite and charcoal. As my confidence grew, my work shifted from drawing what I saw to exploring what I felt. Those early drawings remain an important part of my journey, forming the foundation for the mixed-media portraits I create today.

Working with graphite, charcoal, pastel and mixed media allows me to combine realism with symbolism, creating artworks that leave room for personal interpretation rather than offering fixed answers.

Based in Somerset West, South Africa, I create original artworks for collectors who are drawn to art with emotional depth—pieces that continue to reveal something new each time they are viewed.

For me, art is not simply about what we see.

It is about what we discover.
